NO JUDGEMENT, JUST CRAFT.

Hey dudes. I'm Shannon Spohn, the crazy lady behind LIFT UP THE EARTH. I have been obsessed with crafting and art forever and have always been into trying new techniques and materials. I used to make polymer clay ornaments, beaded chokers, paper dolls, cross-stitch, sew Barbie clothes, etc. when I was a kid. You name it, I have probably tried it!

I have BFA in Textiles from the California College of  Art (& Craft!), which bore my love of weaving and dyeing. I have since been committed to both, taking LUTE through many different incarnations. Despite all its different forms, one thing has remained. My love of technique, color and material. This is what unites all of  my artistic practice and this is what I have transformed LUTE into now. A compendium of experimentation and exploration in to how we can all further and develop our craft process. I love mixed media, interdisciplinary projects, crafting, and creating in general; and that is what I'm here to share with y'all. Let's get weird and play with stuff!
