WHAT I MADE / halloween card series (part 2)

I have been a card making machine this past week!

I have so many weird eyeball stickers and googly eyes, I had to do a creepy eye theme for one of the cards.

The cute skully and jack-o-lantern are cupcake picks/toppers! I love the idea of using them to add a bit of dimension to the piece.

These Pebbles puffy stickers are so cute. The little faces on those pumpkins make me squeal! The back of this is a little reminder of the year we carved pumpkins together.

Originally, I had more Halloween projects planned (maybe too many), but this month was a bit of cosmic hurricane for me. A lot of endings, beginnings, changes. The best I could do to roll with the punches was to just hunker down and force myself to finish all these Halloween cards! I think I did pretty well. The cards came out cute and I learned some important things stylistically and technically along the way.

Celena is eighteen and I wanted her card to feel more "grown-up". I used regular blank cards (from Michaels) instead of envelopes for her. The alphas are rub-on letters I bought at Tuesday Morning. This was my first attempt at using these sort of decals and they were actually pretty easy.

Still undecided on how I feel about these skull die-cuts I bought from Michaels this year. I like them in theory, but every time I use them I am sort of meh about the results. Hmmm.

This set is for my best friend Genevieve’s family. My husband and I are godparents to their children and I just love to “spoil” them. We’ve known each other for 15 years! As a result, I’m able to take certain artistic liberties with her card (resplendent in all its cursing glory). True friendship in every facet.

Was going for a retro-undertaker-rockabilly sort of vibe here. The alphas used for Gen's name are felt (and pleasantly fuzzy). The banner above the hearse says, "Just Buried".

I love having friends I don't have to censor myself for! These little label letters from Tim Holtz allow me to say whatever the hell I want!

I had to put googly eyes on the skull. It cracked me so much looking at it! Also, experimenting with different ways I can put my signature on the back of the card without compromising composition.

Had to do a witch theme for my fav little witch-in-training, Deja Mae. Once again, cupcake toppers! Aren't they just too adorable?!

The packet on the left is jam-packed with stickers. The kid loves stickers! Little Deja’s card also has two photos of me and my husband (she is in LOVE with him).

I bought so many Halloween doilies thinking I'd use them all of the place, but I barely touched them. In an attempt to at least use one, I made the witch's skirt out of  them.
