WHAT I MADE / halloween card series (part 3)

This little Halloween card train is just chug-a-lug-luggin’ along. Are you ready for part 3? Dia de los Muertos edition!

Absolutely in love with those little orange alpha stickers. The font is really sorta funky, in a cute way.

I got hooked on making that crepe-paper ruffle for everything! It's such an easy and quick little trim you can whip up using your home sewing machine. Just straight stitch down the middle and gather as you go.

Suzy and I have been friends since college and her 3-year-old twin girls, Carmen and Alma, are so precious. I wanted to try something different with their cards, so I went with Dia De Los Muertos theme.

The Telenovela loteria card cracked me up and I HAD to include it!

I love being able to incorporate bright colors into the card while still using Halloween stuff too.

The Day of the Dead kitties are a Michaels stamp I decorated with Stickles. Also, that purple embossing powder sucks. The color completely separates when you heat it.

I made some removable embellishments with loteria bingo cards and mini clothespins. That way they can be clipped onto anything as a fun little extra. The card scheme for each girl is basically the same except I mixed up the paper patterns so they were different, but still alike (just like twins!). Working with the bright colors was a refreshing reprieve from all the Halloween stuff. With so many cards on my work table I was getting a bit burnt out. This project has made me really want to make more clothespin and paperclip embellishments with other themes too, they turn out so fun!

I put a little extra clothespin embellishment on their envelope. Love how wild that eyelash yarn makes everything look.

I got a 12" x 12" pad of adhesive-backed cork at Tuesday Morning a while back. I love the way it adds a little texture despite how neutral it seems.

This image is called, "Removing the Talismanic Stone from a Frog's Head". Seems like pretty crucial information, no?
